GNGB rules
Chatroom and groups
We treat each other with sensitivity to discrimination and respect. If we kindly point out difficulties to one another, we can all benefit.
We ask that you treat each other with respect.
The administrators reserve the right to delete offensive or discriminatory comments. Such decisions will be made transparently and with justification.
In extreme cases, members may be expelled.
Statements that attribute abilities to or deny abilities to people based on group affiliations, that demean or other people (declare them to be “other”), and that thus exclude individual consideration, are considered discriminatory.
Although we try to offer each other tips and advice, personal, qualified counseling is unfortunately not possible here. We cannot provide professional legal advisors or counselors for psychosocial issues within the group.
Before we share anything, we pay attention to the following:
- How long has the account (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) of the person whose post we want to share existed? Very few followers, hardly any posts, and a very new profile should raise suspicion.
- Are the posts consistent in terms of timing and content?
- Does the account have a blue verification checkmark?
- Is this an online magazine? To find out, simply check the legal notice (Impressum) or see if one even exists. Without a legal notice, there's no information about the publisher, so we consider it unreliable.
- Please only share social media posts if a source is cited.
- There are cases where fake news stories appear in the design of well-known media brands.
A look at the web address in the browser's address bar will help here. Often, the URL differs from the original by an addition such as a hyphen or a suffix like ".net". - As a general rule, we should look at the date of a news report and enter the headline into a search engine. Are other media outlets also reporting on this case? Are there multiple sources? No? Then please examine the information critically.
Please feel comfortable with us, we look forward to your input.
