My father was a contract worker
A documentary produced by interns Janet and Carmen, with Alegria behind the camera. During the GDR era, approximately 20,000 Mozambicans came to East Germany as contract workers. After four years, they were supposed to return to Mozambique; in any case, they had to return home after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Many left behind children who were without their fathers.
