Water knows no boundaries
Our family camp will take place in Goßen Neu-Zittau from August 5th to August 15th, 2022.
We invite all interested families to delve into the topic of water ecology.
Clean drinking water from the tap and showerhead is taken for granted by most people in Germany and is rarely questioned. Floods and droughts, and the crises and conflicts associated with them, are increasing worldwide. Many are hardly aware of the seriousness of the situation in this context, while others feel powerless.
Together we try out and develop solutions at the local and individual level and reflect on our responsibility in the global context.
Together with a speaker from the Global Learning program, the children construct a canal system and a dam, and build an air conditioner and a small greenhouse out of nets and stones to understand how our water is purified.
Young people and adults also learn how, for example, an ecological wastewater treatment plant works, how greywater is turned back into drinking water, and what influence their own water consumption has on international water conflicts.
Spreewald Clean-Up Campaign - together we'll paddle canoes across the Spree, collecting trash from which we'll build exhibits...
Open-air cinema, campfire, music, food from our garden - a sustainable and holistic leisure program awaits you.
For those who do not like to spend the night in a tent, there is the option of booking a room at the Wernsdorf conference center.
Participation in the camp is based on donations; the number of participants is limited.
