In collaboration with the Senegalese artist Marami, the German teacher Thierno Ousmane Sow From Senegal and our Senegalese social worker, Licka Fall, the children and teenagers gained insights into the diverse cultures of Senegal, learned new languages, and met heroes. The seven-month workshop was accompanied by sound engineer Babatunde Agonglo, singing teacher Naeemah Siemsen, cameraman Hoa Tran, parents, and volunteers. This allowed Sonja Prinz, project manager, to ensure that all participants could be involved in every phase of filmmaking according to their own interests. Through cooperative games, exercises, and group and individual discussions, they learned to recognize their own needs and interests and to respect those of others.
A project of Global New Generation Berlin eV in cooperation with the Africa Media Center, the Weißensee bread factory and the Global New Generation Senegal.
