Dance training and battles

The project „Dance without Borders“ was an inclusive dance and empowerment project for children and young people aged 6 to 15 years.

The aim was to open up creative avenues of expression for the participants, to strengthen their self-confidence and to promote social integration through dance, artistic work and intercultural exchange.

In weekly workshops, the participants learned about various dance styles such as contemporary dance, hip-hop, and improvisation. They developed their own choreographies and designed costumes and stage sets.

Empowerment and awareness

Accompanying the event were empowerment workshops on topics such as diversity, equality and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), conducted by a diversity specialist and an assistant.

The personal, often very moving feedback and accounts from parents were collected and analyzed by the team and incorporated into the development of a parent guide on dealing with situations of discrimination in schools. The guide contains practical advice, contact information for counseling centers, and details of rights and support services available in Berlin.

The intensive engagement of parents with the issue of discrimination in the education system shows that there is a great demand for information, exchange and empowerment in this area.

Impressions from work

Dance without Borders

The „Dance without borders“ project created an appreciative, creative environment in which children of different backgrounds could develop their strengths, learn from each other and experience themselves as part of a community.
